The Benefits of Jumping Rope
In my 26 years as a firefighter and fitness advocate I’ve come to one definitive fact when it comes to physical activity: "Muscles are strengthened specifically as they are trained." In other words the body will adapt to whatever you demand of it, specifically to what you demand of it.
Almost all sports demand strength, speed, power, explosiveness, eye, hand, and foot coordination, agility, timing, and balance. Yet these are only a few of the demands and benefits of jumping rope.
Jumping rope also demands acceleration, deceleration, starting, and stopping speed, lateral, horizontal, and vertical movements. It conditions the aerobic and anaerobic energy systems. It exercises all major muscle groups by working the upper and lower body simultaneously. Jumping rope literally enhances more fitness factors per unit of time than any other single exercise.
In this article you will learn how jumping rope not only improves your athletic performance, but how you can eliminate cellulite, saddlebags, love-handles, thunder thighs, a spare tire, flabby upper arms and fat all over your entire body in only 10 minutes a day. That’s right, just 10 minutes a day. That’s only three songs on your favorite CD. If this sounds incredible its only because you don’t understand body types and the physics behind jumping rope.
It’s obvious that we all have different body types. That being the case, we all can’t do the same exercises. Some people are larger in their upper body, some larger in their lower body, and others are larger through their waist, large all over or just thin.
